delena things that will never happen but need to #18:
In one of the last scenes in the season finale, Elena will be in the hospital, close to death. Her only desire is simply for her friends and family to be safe, but she knows the only reason their lives are constantly in danger is because of their desire to keep her alive. She realizes that the only way to combat this is to turn, so her morality is no longer an issue. As much as she wants the happy family and picket fence in her future, she has to give up on that dream to keep her loved ones alive.
There will be a moment with both brothers. Elena will call in Stefan, and the audience (Delena fans) will flip out and scream and cry over the injustice and Ian Somerhalder will just knock it out of the park with his depressed face. But then, it cuts to the outside of the hospital, where we stare at the door for a few moments and… Stefan walks out. He stares out onto the parking lot, hands in his pockets looking forlorn, and Stelena fans get their moment to grieve and scream.
Then we see Damon and Elena sitting together in the hospital room, Damon holding her hand, both not sure if they should be smiling or crying over her soon-to-be lifeless heart.
Cue the beautiful song that Delena fans will listen to again and again over the summer, whilst crying and eating ice cream.They’ll sit and have a sweet conversation, this being the introspective scene in which he talks her through what being a vampire will be like and how he’ll help her through. Suddenly, he won’t be able to contain his utter joy over the fact that she chose him… that somebody finally chose him, and he’ll just thank her over and over again. She’ll smile and apologize for stringing him along for so long like Katherine did and he’ll say something like, “You’ve never been Katherine to me. Even when I first saw you, you were never Katherine to me.” Elena will smirk and laugh over their surprise meeting in the boarding house and he’ll correct her. He’ll tell her about the real first time he saw her, the time she didn’t know about and how he knew right then and there that someone so good and pure and incredible and strong could never be the woman who hurt him all those years ago.The scene will end with Damon being the one to kill her. They’ll be in a position similar to when he had to stake Rose in 2x08. He’ll apologize profusely and she’ll just look up at him, touching her hand to his cheek, and say, “It’s okay. This way… I’ll get to love you forever.” The episode will end with Damon snapping her neck.
